2016 Bodybuilding Competition!!!!

So, last August, I competed in my very first INFB Bodybuilding competition where I took 2nd place. It was an awesome experience and I learned a lot. However, after the competition, instead of maintaining my weight and getting prepared for another competition, I went back to very old habits and a year later, I gained 20lbs!!! (I know WTH) Then, I lost some of it, then gained it back, then lost it again, had surgery where they removed 5 tumors from my stomach and now I'm back at it!!  One thing I've learned from my past is the first step to getting back on track and knowing what you did wrong.

Here's what I've done wrong this past year:

  • Eating poorly
  • Not doing a lot of fat burn cardio
  • Not getting enough sleep
  • Increased stress
  • Snacking on chocolate at night (Eating poorly)
  • Did I mention eating POORLY!!!!!
So as you can see, I pretty much narrowed down my issue to eating poorly lol. I love food, especially the food that is bad for me lol. And I have a really bad habit of eating sweets at night before I go to bed. It's almost an addiction for me. Plus not to mention I moved back to the states in last December and there's soooo many fast food places that weren't available in Germany that made it very easy for me to not stay focused. Lastly, it seems to be more expensive to eat healthier here.

But, I've decided to not let those EXCUSES hinder me anymore. I decided to get my focus back, I want to compete again! I found a competition here in Savannah on March 26, 2016. As of today, I have 19 weeks to prepare for it. My goal in the next 7 weeks is to lose the additional body fat I have gained since coming back stateside. My goal is to increase my water intake, decrease my sugar intake and increase my cardio activity.

I'm really excited to prepare for this competition and I'm actually thinking of putting a team together. If you're interested please let me know!

Thoughts from AlcineXtreme: Fitness Deposits

Throughout my classes, I sometimes talk about things that I feel would be great to share with the public. Unfortunately, I never write it down and I typically forget about it. Not today though!!! While teaching my spin class this morning, I was speaking on "Fitness Deposits" while we were in the middle of our climb. (I always talk through my classes to give them something else to focus on than the burn)  So, I was telling them every time they do something active (i.e. attend a workout class, train, walk, etc.) and eat something healthy, they're making deposits to themselves. Think of your body as an interest bearing account. Some people's interest rates are better than others and that is why they see results faster. Some of us have had such bad credit with our body that it takes us making bigger deposits to see any results. However, just like with credit, you can fix your health. It does take time, patience and discipline. Remember, consistency is key, if you have...

Why I switched from Team Beachbody to Herbalife

Hey everyone, if you're on my facebook (www.facebook.com/AlcineXtreme) or on my Instagram (instagram/AlcineXtremeFitness) you may have noticed that I have recently become an Herbalife Distributor. I know many of you have known me as Team Beachbody Coach for years and are probably wondering why I switched. First, I want to say that I loved the Team Beachbody products and will still recommend them. Shakeology has  helped me to lose weight as well as their programs have helped me to stay active. However, like most I need a more customized nutrition plan to take my fitness to the next level. Like many MLM (Multi-level marketing) business out there they provide products that will help the general population. They will get you some results, but most of the time in order for you to achieve your true goals it will take a little more. For me, Team Beachbody was great in helping me lost weight and increase my endurance with the programs that I used (i.e. Hip Hop Abs, T25, P90X, Insanity)...

It's time for a change!

Happy Sunday, 2020 has definitely been a year for us all. I went into 2020 bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, excited to crush some goals and help others to do the same and then COVID-19 happened. I watched friends suffer through this disease, people die and others who felt it wasn't that serious. I also lost my dog, Meeko. I had her for 10 years and losing her was like losing a piece of my heart. 2020 really did a number on me and my mindset.  I tried to remain positive and focused throughout it all. During my 6 week furlough from work, I found joy in teaching virtual classes which was great because I was able to lose 30 pounds. But as I returned to work, returned to life, my weight fluctuated about 10 pounds in either direction due to depression and stress. What was worse was even though I was returning to my normal life, "normal" wasn't normal anymore. Usually after work, I would get my son and my boyfriend and I would spend 1-2 hours in the gym before going home. With ...
